February & March 2012

February: Valentine's day, the Prix de Lausanne ballet competition, more Ramseyer art, and the Lion of Lucerne.
March: We traveled to the US. I took lots of photos with my mind's eye, but none with a camera.
Some of our adventures in West Virginia can be seen here and here.

It turns out, the sculpture in the fountain at the Hôtel DuPeyrou is an early Ramseyer from 1948-49.

Ramseyer everywhere

I'm now seeing works by local sculptor André Ramseyer all around town. Standing in a sculpture garden
between the art museum and the docks are Aube (1977-81) by di Teana (previously featured in this post) in the foreground and Labyrinthe VI (1977) by Ramseyer (previously featured in this post) in the background.

Esplanade du Mont-Blanc (part 3)

Spirale (1991-92) by local sculptor, André Ramseyer
The third of five sculptures I found in this garden, which sits next to the Hotel Beau-Rivage.
