The first full day we spent entirely in Reggio. In the morning, we ambled around a city park with grand, old trees 

and encountered this photographer and model.

Maiko

Maiko are apprentice geishas. My friend Shuku and I encountered these two in Kyoto near Kiyomizu-dera.

Coco and friend

This man lives down the hill from us, and we often see him out walking his cat, Coco. We stopped and talked

with him on Saturday. He's 91 and Coco is 11.

Sweet cherries

I admire this woman's devotion to orange.

As we were descending, a large wedding party was climbing to the highest part of the roof.

Tour de Romandie

We took a break from watching the royal wedding yesterday to see the cyclists from the Tour de Romandie

racing through town. At this point in the race, the peloton was between three to five minutes behind the small 

lead pack. Romandie is the French-speaking part of Switzerland.

Saturday is market day for many towns. A cheese vendor at Lausanne's Saturday market.
