Belgium week - biking the canals

From Cambridge we traveled to Bruges by train, taking the Eurostar from London through the Chunnel to Brussels, 

where we switched to a local train. Two of the days we were in Belgium, we rented bicycles and headed

 into the countryside on bike paths that occasionally follow the canals.

Hauterive waterway

I find Hauterive to be one of the most charming towns we've visited.

Milan week: the Naviglio Grande

After a 2.5 hour journey through two long tunnels under the Alps and alongside Lake Maggiore, we arrived

in Milan. We walked from our hotel on the Via Giorgio Washington south to the Naviglio Grande to find

dinner. Afterwards we strolled up the popular canal before finding a gelato shop and heading to bed.
